Fibercore appoints US account manager

Fibercore, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of specialty optical fibre has appointed Karen Moore as its US account manager. Karen brings 17 years of technical sales and sales management experience to the role.

Karen joins Fibercore having demonstrated success within both large established public companies, having spent 10 years at Corning, and smaller private companies including Nufern, Xanoptix, Precision Filters, and Photonic Controls. Karen also spent six years as a lieutenant in the Civil Engineer Corps in the U. S. Navy.

Vello teams up with six partners

Vello Systems, a provider of software solutions for customer-defined data centre and cloud services networks, has added six partners in key global markets to meet service provider and enterprise demand for the company’s customer-defined networking software solutions.

The new additions to the Vello Partner Network are PRO-ZETA, HCL, Espo Systems, Accunet, DifferenceIT, and SDN Solusi.  These IT solutions providers will use Pacnet’s ‘Pacnet-enabled network’  to drive Vello’s software into new global markets with new applications.

Prysmian furthers its Baltic connections

Prysmian Group has been awarded a new contract worth approximately €730 million to design, produce and install the power cable systems for the offshore wind park cluster, West of Adlergrund, in the German Baltic Sea.

The connection projects will involve the design, supply and installation of multiple high-voltage submarine cable systems between planned offshore wind parks, approximately 40 km north-east of the island of Ruegen, to the Lubmin substation in north east Germany (and consequently with the mainland electricity grid) along a route approximately 90 km long.

Chorus selects Alcatel for New Zealand project

Chorus, New Zealand’s largest telecommunications infrastructure company, has selected IP routing technology from Alcatel-Lucent to build the core network that will power its ‘Chorus Accelerate’ program, which will offer customers broadband services over both copper and fiber networks.

Prysmian wins Sydney contract

Prysmian Group has been awarded an Australian contract worth approximately €30 million (AU$44 million) for 132 kV underground high voltage cables for the North Shore cable upgrade project by Ausgrid, a state-owned utility of New South Wales managing distribution and transmission assets.
