Press Releases

ATX’s next-generation optical node has been launched to enable multiple system operators to start capitalising on the capabilities of Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) and digital technologies.

Inno Instrument has introduced its View 900 cable antenna analyser to the American market at this year’s Cable Tech Expo in Atlanta.

Intel has expanded its PON portfolio with the introduction of a high-speed, multimode 10G PON chipset, which was showcased at the Broadband World Forum event in Berlin.

Blown fibre and ducted network solutions provider, Emtelle has revealed a new 24-fibre bundle solution at Broadband World Forum 2018 in Berlin.

NetComm has expanded its Distribution Point Unit (DPU) portfolio, adding new form factors in order to allow for a wider range of deployment models.

The American Institute for Manufacturing Integrated Photonics (AIM Photonics) and Analog Photonics (AP) has released its AP SUNY Process Design Kit v2.5a (APSUNY_PDKv2.5a).

Iskratel has launched two new edge-computing solutions – including an ‘amphibian’ GPON OLT. Building on its SI3000 Lumia G16 compact GPON Optical Line Terminal (OLT), the company’s new dual-nature OLT can operate as a traditional integrated OLT, but also provides a disaggregated white-box solution, based on virtual OLT Hardware Abstraction (vOLTHA) principles.

Now available from Prysmian Group is the Karona Overblow System, which is designed to aid installation of high-density optical fibre cable into pre-existing sub-ducted routes that contain existing legacy cable.

MACOM showcased its first complete chipset solution for 200G and 400G CWDM optical module providers servicing cloud data centre applications, at this year’s ECOC. It is designed to enable 200G modules at under 4.5W, and 400G modules at under 9W total power consumption, with a fully analogue architecture to ensure low latency and lower cost.

ECOC 2018 was the platform from which Fujikura Europe introduced the latest addition to its fusion splicer product line, the 41S.

By working wirelessly with the new CT50 fibre cleaver, the splicer improves installation time as well as cost. Designed for FTTX, data centre, LAN and access applications, the future-proof smart splicer has active v-groove alignment and boasts innovative features in a compact and robust package. It has been upgraded from its predecessor, the 22S, and can now deliver accurate core splice loss estimation.
