Impact 100-Ohm backplane connector

Molex has released the Impact 100-Ohm backplane connector, a scalable Impact connector technology that provides data rates up to 25 Gbps with signal density of up to 80 differential pairs per linear inch when using a six-pair configuration.

Strain sensor

Avago Technologies, a supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications, today announced a unique, cost-effective polymer optical fibre (POF) based strain sensor solution for industrial applications.

Woodhead MAX-LOC

Molex has announced the launch of the Woodhead MAX-LOC Plus Shielded Cord-Grip Assemblies featuring a nickel-plated aluminium housing and shielding ring for superior electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) protection.

The assemblies enable OEMs and end-users to connect high-power electrical currents directly to an application with an exterior mounting enclosure, simplifying the installation process for high-volume, cost-sensitive programs.

The Count NIR

Especially made for wavelengths in the near infrared, Laser Components has introduced the single photon counting module Count NIR. The company says it has a notable detection efficiency of 60 per cent at 810nm and achieves a maximum detection efficiency of almost 80 per cent at 700nm.

Dark count rates of less than 50 photons per second are common. To operate this module, TTL pulses can be used: for this purpose, the Count is equipped with a gating input. The power is connected using a 12V power supply.

T-Marc WD

Telco Systems has unveiled the T-Marc WD, a Weatherproof Service Demarcation family of enclosures, built to withstand exposure to weather without damage or loss of function.

The company says the T-Marc WD Ethernet/MPLS network interface device (NID) demonstrates continued progress for Telco Systems’ end-to-end solutions, from the access to the core, while offering a wider solution set for outdoor deployment or unconditioned indoor environments.

WFM2300 Series

Tektronix, the provider of broadcast video test, monitoring and analysis solutions, has expanded its family of waveform monitors with the addition of the portable WFM2300 Series, designed for install and maintenance applications.

Firebird instrumentation range

Phoenix Photonics, the UK-based optical fibre components specialist, has unveiled a new polarisation control module as part of its expanding Firebird instrumentation range.

The polarisation controller module allows predetermined polarisation states to be selected and maintained. The on-board microprocessor is programmed via a simple PC interface to provide a range of pre-selected or user defined operations.. The instrument is all-fibre, providing low loss and high extinction ratio.

Poli-MOD

AFL is introducing the Poli-MOD, a pig-tailed optical interconnect patch and splice module designed for network growth.

Accommodating up to 24 fibre interconnections in an industry-standard, single-slot LGX 118 footprint, the Poli-MOD module uses a snap-in splice sleeve cradle that securely manages both single and ribbon fibre arrangements. This customised cradle provides a means for the installer to secure splice sleeves prior to routing fibre within the module, reducing installation time and minimising the risk for damaging fibre.

FLS-2800 Benchtop ITLA Tunable Laser Source

Exfo has unveiled the FLS-2800 Benchtop ITLA Tunable Laser Source, a high-power, continuous wave (CW) laser unit with narrow linewidth and high-resolution tunability. Developed jointly with Coherent Solutions, it is currently available exclusively from Exfo.
