Robo-Cab

UTEL, an independent research and development company for telecommunications systems, has announced its new product, Robo-Cab, an innovative fully managed ADF system which Utel claims will revolutionise the future operation and management of FTTC.

UTEL is to unveil Robo-Cab at Broadband World Forum 2014, in Amsterdam. The system can fully automate the whole cabinet, including copper cross connect, VDSL splitter jumpering, copper line testing, VDSL DSLAM port testing and cross connect testing.

Cloud Xpress

Infinera a provider of Intelligent Transport Networks has introduced the Infinera Cloud Xpress family of metro optical platforms, designed for network operators delivering cloud-based services to consumers and businesses.

XON1200

BKtel, a designer and manufacturer of hardware and services for FTTH, cable broadband networks and video distribution, has announced the release of the XON1200, its newest product to address the evolution of FTTH customer premises equipment (CPE).

The XON1200 is designed to address the main challenges currently existing in the FTTH industry: small footprint, low power consumption and reduced equipment and operational cost, especially in the installation and maintenance process.

The OptiDriver platform

MRV Communications, a provider of innovative packet and optical solutions, has announced The OptiDriver platform, the most recent addition to MRV’s family of advanced optical transport network elements.

The solution offers a feature set that aligns with the current operational needs of data centres and service providers, and provides the flexibility and capacity to support future growth in their network infrastructure.

One-Click Cleaner MPO

Fujikura Europe has launched its new One-Click Cleaner MPO, designed for cleaning MPO/MTP connectors and adapter mounted MPO/MTP connectors that are widely used in data centres and also in some telco-operated infrastructures.

The company says the product cleans MPO/MTP connector end-faces that have been exposed to loose contaminants, such as dirt and oil from an installer's fingers. With just one action it is able to clean a variety of fibre counts up to 48 fibre MPO/MTP end faces and is capable of providing over 500 cleans per unit, says Fujikura.
