MACOM unveils surface mount modulator driver for 46Gbaud applications

Semiconductor products supplier M/A-COM Technology Solutions has announced the new wideband MAOM-003427, a quad-channel linear modulator driver with 46-Gbaud capability to support next generation 200G and 400G applications.

This addition to MACOM’s extensive portfolio of driver solutions for optical infrastructure enables system designers to address higher baud rate applications with lower-cost surface mount technology.

NeoPhotonics unveils products supporting 400G coherent transport

Paving the way for next-generation systems at 400G and beyond, NeoPhotonics has announced a suite of products and technologies designed to support 400G optical transport across multiple network segments, including long haul, metro and data centre interconnect (DCI).

TeraXion to display 400G IQ modulators at ECOC 2015

The indium-phosphide-based, high-bandwidth, dual-polarisation IQ modulator from TeraXion can enable increased spectral efficiency and reach in next-generation, single-carrier transmission systems at speeds beyond 100Gb/s, the company claims.

“Our commercially available indium phosphide modulators are ready to meet system requirements for 100Gb/s and upcoming advanced modulation formats,” stated Ian Woods, vice president of high-speed photonic components at TeraXion.

Phoenix Photonics to show few-mode EDFA at ECOC 2015

Phoenix Photonics, a developer and supplier of components for few mode fibre (FMF), plans to demonstrate its latest product – the cladding-pumped few-mode erbium-doped fibre amplifier (FM-EDFA) – at ECOC 2015.

The product adds to the company’s product range targeted at the space division multiplexing (SDM) market, which exploits new types of optical fibre. It complements the core-pumped amplifier that was released in 2014, providing different options for researchers investigating mode-division multiplexing (MDM) transmission using few mode fibres.

Oclaro 100G QSFP28 transceiver targets singlemode data centre links

Oclaro has announced initial sampling of a 100G QSFP28 client-side transceiver that is ideally suited for 100G interconnections between data centre switches in addition to interfaces in high-end routers and packet-optical transport systems.

The new module meets both the CWDM4 MSA and CLR4 Alliance optical interface specifications, as well as the IEEE 802.3bm CAUI-4 electrical interface specification, in a single design that features low power consumption of 3.5W.

Avago unveils ultra-low power Fast Ethernet SFP transceiver

Avago Technologies has announced an ultra-low power Fast Ethernet small form-factor pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver module, the AFBR-57E6APZ, designed for industrial automation, controls and networking applications.

The device features a redesigned chip set for LED control, diagnostic monitoring interface (DMI) and signal processing, which significantly reduces the module power dissipation. Compared with the previous-generation device, the AFBR-57E6APZ consumes 42 per cent less power while delivering superior electrical and optical performance.

MACOM targets GPON performance with ultra-high-sensitivity TIA

M/A-COM Technology Solutions, a supplier of high-performance analogue, RF, microwave and optical semiconductor components, has unveiled the new M02027, next-generation high-performance transimpedance amplifier (TIA) designed for GPON optical network unit (ONU) equipment.
