ADVA Optical Networking has launched the FSP 150 ProVMe (P2.4), a device engineered to help communications service providers more easily and cost-effectively introduce network functions virtualisation (NFV) into their networks.

At Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Huawei unveiled what it believes to be the industry's first 4T router line card – that’s four terabits – delivering the industry's highest density 100 Gigabit Ethernet interface interconnection.

The line cards will boost the capacity of Huawei's NetEngine9000 series core router (NE9000), which currently supports 80Tb/s in a single chassis (and petabit capacity in a multi-chassis configuration), expandable in the future to 160Tb/s in a single chassis.

Optical switch specialist Calient announced that Spirent Communications has completed integration of its S Series optical circuit switch with Spirent’s Velocity test bed orchestration software.

Spirent has developed a software driver that allows Velocity to control Calient’s S320 and S160 optical circuit switches to provide Layer-1 optical topology reconfiguration in network equipment test labs. This allows network test laboratories to build a fully automated “fibre-once” laboratory infrastructure.

Alcatel-Lucent plans to introduce a new series of IP routers that will give service providers and enterprises an economically optimised platform for smaller locations in large-scale IP networks, or as a full-service router for smaller networks.

The new 7750 SR-e service router will expand Alcatel-Lucent’s highly successful 7750 Service Router (SR) family, extending the benefits of service routing further into the network to give service providers and enterprises IP routing technology scaled to their needs at different network locations.

MRV Communications has announced that its OptiSwitch 9244 10GE pre-aggregation platform is the latest solution in the OptiSwitch portfolio to be compliant with the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Carrier Ethernet (CE) 2.0 specifications.

The OptiSwitch 9244 platform features a compact, high-density and low-power design that empowers service providers to streamline the delivery and management of mobile, wholesale and business Ethernet services, the company says.

Emulex has launched the new OneConnect OCe14000 family of 10GbE and 40GbE Network Adapters and 10GbE Converged Network Adapters (CNAs). They enable higher virtual machine (VM) densities, and support secure hybrid clouds with virtual network fabrics. The RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) low latency architecture delivers application acceleration and provides an open application performance interface (API) that integrates with next generation software-defined networking (SDN) solutions.

MRV Communications, which provides packet and optical solutions, has added a 100Gbps multi-protocol, multi-rate muxponder to its recently introduced OptiDriver optical transport platform. It will help offer data centre operators, content delivery networks and cloud service providers a flexible path to a 100G optical transport network. The OptiDriver 100G muxponder enables operators to achieve bandwidth efficiency in applications such as public, private or hybrid cloud, web hosting services, high-performance computing and more.
