MRV Communications' OptiDriver optical transport platform has been named a finalist by the TechAmerica Foundation for an American Technology Award in the telecommunications category.

The American Technology Awards represent outstanding achievement in 15 technical categories and exemplify the 'best of' the United States technology marketplace. MRV’s OptiDriver platform is recognised for enabling more intelligent, high-performance networks for service providers, data centres, content delivery networks and cloud providers. The solution streamlines network management to better support unrelenting traffic and revenue-generating applications like cloud-based services, web hosting, software-defined networking (SDN) and more.

The OptiDriver platform empowers operators to meet current operational needs with the industry’s highest 10G density and accommodates growing capacity demands with support for 100G transport. The solution features built-in processing, testing and rapid turn-up capabilities that allow the platform to quickly integrate into new and existing networks. These features also significantly increase ease-of-use and time-to-market as operators look to expand service portfolios with additional offerings for their growing customer bases.

'MRV is committed to providing our customers with innovative solutions that improve network intelligence, performance and manageability. Our solutions enable operators to accommodate growing demand for bandwidth and service requirements, so they can create new revenue opportunities and enhance their competitive edge,' said Zeev Draer, vice president of strategic marketing for MRV Communications.

'We’re pleased to be recognised as a finalist in the American Technology Awards, as it demonstrates MRV’s ability to create powerful solutions that meet the demands of today’s dynamic and agile next-generation networks.'
