Strategic partnership formed to boost altnet gigabit service offerings

The Fibre Café and Common Wholesale Platform have teamed up to help accelerate the growth and adoption of gigabit services in the UK

The Fibre Café and Common Wholesale Platform have teamed up to help accelerate the growth and adoption of gigabit services in the UK. The firms agreed on this partnership at the recent INCA Annual Conference.

What this means for altnets

This will allow The Common Wholesale Platform (CWP) to connect its One-Touch-Switch feature with The Fibre Café's gateway to the UK's fibre network. This, in turn will allow smaller alternative network providers (altnets) to use The Fibre Café’s integrations services while complying with OTS regulations.

Marcel Horst, CEO of Common Wholesale Platform says: "Our members will now have a cost-effective way to add further gigabit services to their portfolio. Likewise, many Altnets are now seeking additional revenue streams from wholesaling their networks. Through our relationship with The Fibre Café, this now becomes a reality to reach scale retail providers."

Wail Sabbagh, CEO of Strategic Imperatives says: "Delivering OTS interoperability as part of The Fibre Café proposition is something that many of our customers have asked for. This partnership is a great way to achieve this with a market leader in this space."

In the future, altnets using CWP will be able to offer a unified wholesale service to The Fibre Café's scale providers. Both companies are excited about testing and validating these services, and expect to announce major customers soon.

Malcolm Corbett, CEO at INCA says: "I am pleased to see this initiative as one of several industry activities seeking to increase service accessibility from a hugely creative Altnet market."
