PacketFront Network Products changes name to Waystream and appoints Peter Kopelman as chairman of the board

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN -- Swedish broadband equipment vendor PacketFront Network Products AB changes name to Waystream. At the same time the company announces new board members, Peter Kopelman is appointed new chairman of the board and Heléne Köhler as new board member. The name change is an important milestone in preparation for the international expansion.

Waystream AB provides digital infrastructure for ultrafast, reliable and secure Internet services in fiber networks for both homes and businesses. The company customers include utilities, city nets and service providers in Sweden and the Nordic countries. Today, Waystream has delivered more than 1,500,000 customer ports which puts the company on the map as an established player on the Nordic market.

"This name change is aimed at creating clarity about our company identity as we start an international expansion outside Scandinavia. This is where our new chairman, Peter Kopelman, and our new board member, Heléne Köhler, plays important roles. Their expertise and experience from a number of leading positions in the IT industry along with their substantial experience in sales, will strengthen the company as we now enter into a new phase with an increased focus on growth and international expansion" says Johnny Hedlund, CEO at Waystream.

Peter Kopelman has long experience in the IT industry. Peter has held CEO positions in Sweden for Cisco, Microsoft and Fujitsu-Siemens as well several executive positions with IBM. He also serves as board member for several companies and some institutions including the University of Umeå.

Heléne Köhler brings more than twenty years of experience from sales and marketing and deep knowledge about sales through partners. She has held executive positions in Office, IMS-Data and IT-Hantverkarna, where she was a co-owner until it was sold to Dustin.
