Optical network solutions provider, Ribbon Communications is providing Thai network services provider, Interlink Telecom Public Company with a data centre interconnect solution using an Apollo optical networking platform.

Interlink Telecom Public Company provides services, such as fibre internet and data centre communication solutions in Thailand. Its mission is to become the biggest and most reliable network in Thailand and it already covers 75 provinces with its fibre optic network.

The Apollo 9901X access OTN switch

The solution from Ribbon leverages the flexibility of the Apollo 9901X access OTN switch to map multiple data centre services onto high-speed DCI links under software control. It is used for L1 business services because, rather than mapping multiple coloured interfaces onto a ring using muxponders, each of which would require engineering, it enables the support of all services on a single 100G wavelength.

Nuttanai Anuntarumporn, CEO of Interlink Telecom Public Company says: “Ribbon’s incredibly fast delivery enabled us to successfully deploy our service on time. We’re confident that we can rely on Ribbon for critical and urgent projects that are core to our offering. Ribbon exceeded our expectations and paved the way for new-normal, tight timeframe projects.”

Drazen Lukic, Ribbon’s SVP Global Product Management and Operations IP Optical Networks adds: “We’re extremely proud to be working with ITEL and of our ability to deliver fast project execution, from delivery to service activation. We look forward to building on this relationship with ITEL over the coming years.”
