Openreach technicians recognised as ‘fibre ninjas’

A pair of technicians from Openreach, the access network division of BT Group have been presented with the UK Fibre Ninja award by Viavi Solutions.

The award is designed to give recognition to telecoms engineers who systematically go above and beyond the call-of-duty in installing, commissioning or maintaining infrastructure supporting the fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) roll-out.

Anthony Cook and Paul Main were nominated by several members of their team for their hard work and expertise in Openreach’s centralised test-head PON deployment in the north of England. They were surprised by the Viavi team at the Manchester East TEC depot and given their personalised awards, gifts and prizes.
