Arden Photonics upgrades MPX software to Version 8

Arden Photonics has released new software for its MPX Modal Explorer, a system for checking the launch conditions into multimode fibre using real-time measurement of encircled flux.

The standards-compliant system is applicable to users of both MPX-1 (850nm) and MPX-2 (1300nm) units with a USB 2.0 interface between computer and MPX optical unit.

Version 8 of the software supports a new larger field of view allowing the measurement of 110µm max core diameter, an increase of 16 per cent compared to previous versions. It also contains support for Windows 10 and new templates designed for aerospace users.

In addition, the new software supports the MPX-API (application programming interface), a new way to control and access data programmatically to enable automated testing. An additional licence is required for this.

A free upgrade to Version 8 is available to existing customers under the company’s 12-month warranty (API not included).
