OFS expands InvisiLight in-building cabling portfolio

OFS has added new options to its InvisiLight Optical Solutions portfolio, a system for fast and virtually invisible optical fibre installations inside indoor living units (ILUs) and multiple dwelling units (MDUs) in fibre-to-the-building (FTTB) applications.

The InvisiLight portfolio from OFS now includes a higher fibre count version of the InvisiLight Hallway Solution for MDUs and a two-fibre version of the InvisiLight ILU Solution Kit for indoor living units. The portfolio is integrated with the SlimBox brand of terminals, offering a complete solution for indoor cabling in optical access network.

The InvisiLight MDU Solution for building hallways now comes in four different versions. To complement the existing 12-fiber count design, InvisiLight MDU cordage are now being offered in four- and eight-fibre count versions in the same 2mm footprint. In addition, a 16-fiber count version in a 2.3mm diameter cord is being launched to support a higher number of living units per floor. The installation procedures for these cables remain the same as the 12-fiber count product and the fibre counts match the splitter ratios of various SlimBox floor distribution terminals.

In addition, OFS has launched a two-fibre InvisiLight ILU Solutions Kit with a 1.2mm cord made from bend insensitive fibre. The product is fully compatible with the InvisiLight MDU Solution, using an LC connector in the customer module to connect with the point of entry module in the hallway.

“The InvisiLight enhancements elevate the value of the overall portfolio as we continue listening to our customers and working to meet their network design needs. These solutions enable customers to work out the economics of their business case to connect residential apartments in buildings, which can vary in number per floor,” said Anurag Jain, FTTH Solutions Manager.

The new products are on display at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo on 18–20 October in Denver, Colorado, on OFS booth #1437.
