Amongst its range of integrated silicon to software capabilities, Sterlite Tech brought to the recent OFC 2018 event its new Smarter FTTH Plug and Play kit for telecom operators and ISPs.
The new kit is designed to minimise installation time, taking it from weeks to hours, as well as reduce the need for skilled manpower for splicing and cable slack issues for telecom operators and ISPs.
Elaborating on the technology behind the kit, Dr Badri Gomatam, CTO, Sterlite Tech, commented: ‘Our breakthrough FTTH Plug and Play solution has a fully modular design. The solution can be customised to enable both centralised and 2-stage splitting architecture as per the deployment requirements of ISPs and telecom service providers.’
All passive enclosures have stringent ingress protection features and are compatible with pole and wall-mount installations, giving additional flexibility. A high rodent-resistant compact cable made with Sterlite Tech’s bend insensitive fibre Bow Lite Plus has also been incorporated.
