Vecima Networks is set to highlight its leadership in next-generation fibre access at Fiber Connect 2026. The company will introduce the new Entra EPS1650 All-PON Shelf and showcase the SBM450 Remote Optical Line Terminal (R-OLT) module.
These innovations reinforce Vecima's Entra portfolio, which allows operators to deploy 10G technologies today while building a flexible evolution path toward 50G-PON across both centralised and distributed network architectures.
EPS1650 All-PON Shelf supports multiple standards
The new Entra EPS1650 All-PON Shelf supports a wide range of services, including 50G-PON, XGS-PON, 10G-EPON, GPON, and EPON. It provides a modular shelf form-factor that offers investment protection for operators transitioning from legacy standards.
The shelf offers up to 32 ports of XGS-PON when using double-density optics. When enabled for 50G-PON, up to 16 ports can be configured while simultaneously supporting existing PON standards. The unit is temperature-hardened and purpose-built for cabinet applications, with management handled via Vecima's vPON Manager.
According to Dell'Oro Group, Vecima was the global market leader in fibre access R-OLTs from 2021 through 2025. Early customer lab engagements for the EPS1650 are expected in late 2026.
Extending fibre to the network edge
The SBM450 Remote OLT Module extends Vecima's architecture to the network edge, enabling operators to bring high-performance fibre closer to subscribers. At Fiber Connect, Vecima will display the SBM450 deployed in an SF-4X Node.
The SBM450 is designed for distributed access environments, allowing operators to push capacity deeper into the network and optimise deployment costs. Vecima will also demonstrate its vPON Manager, providing a look at the automation layer behind these deployments, including service provisioning and streaming telemetry.
"With our All-PON architecture, our proven Remote OLT leadership and the introduction of the EPS1650, we're helping operators deploy tomorrow's fibre networks today," said Ryan Nicometo, senior vice president and general manager of Broadband Solutions at Vecima.
All products on display are part of Vecima's Open Network Ecosystem, which supports interoperability with third-party ONU/ONT partners to eliminate vendor lock-in.
