The simple life

Scott Modha takes a look at how the right technique goes a long way, and network operators could benefit from simplified microduct network deployments

Taking centre stage

The data centre has created demand for an infrastructure that provides greater bandwidth and higher data rates, but how has this impacted the market for optical components?

Nexans, Emtelle partner on €65 million Swedish government contract

Nexans has been awarded a €65 million contract to supply optical fibre solutions for the Swedish government’s Transport Administration, Trafikverket. The cable solutions will be used with microducts and microduct bundles from Emtelle in rail projects as the Swedish government continues to develop FTTX networks throughout the country.

Emtelle enhances Fispy Microduct connection system with FS:Detect

Emtelle has added FS:Detect to its product range in order to provide an integrated kit designed to pinpoint damage and deliver error-free microduct selection in fibre networks.

Developed by New Zealand-based FiComms, the FiSpy kit – which was showcased for the first time at this year’s ANGA COM conference and exhibition in Cologne – consists of two complementary hand tools.
